We had a delightful dinner at the Church House Inn at Stoke Gabriel. We were 13 but the pub was not crowded. The picture shows our raft of moored boats. In the background is the trace of the tidal pool dam, just under water at this high spring tide: 5.2 m at Dartmouth. The return trip in the dark was uneventful. There was no moon, but we were guided by the cloud-reflected lights of Dartmouth, Torbay, Totnes and the intermittent sweep of the Start Point lighthouse. And by a flock of Chinese lanterns launched from somewhere in Dittisham.
